National workshop of the Alliance in Paris

CoE

The first workshop of French local authorities participating in the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for Roma Inclusion was held on Thursday 13th February 2014 at the Council of Europe Office in Paris. Participants were informed of the activities of the Alliance since it was launched in March 2013 and discussed its future action plan, to be implemented in coordination with the ROMED2 and ROMACT programmes of the Council of Europe.

They also identified the needs and expectations of the participating local authorities, and discussed their practices with regard to projects promoting Roma inclusion, with a view to develop the exchange of know-how and experience. A meeting with French NGOs active on Roma issues has also taken place.

The French local authorities participating in the Alliance are as of now: Aubervilliers, the Department of Val de Marne, Lille, Lyon, Paris and Strasbourg.
