The Alliance participated in the seminar of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) on the role of national Specialised Bodies in supporting local authorities in the fight against racism and intolerance, held in Strasbourg on 22-23 May 2014. The Alliance representative, Mr Denis HUBER, Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Regions and Head of the Department for Cooperation, Administration and External Relations of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, presented an update of Alliance activities and took part in a debate with ECRI participants.

ECRI is a human rights body of the Council of Europe, composed of independent experts, which monitors problems of racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, intolerance and discrimination on grounds such as “race”, national/ethnic origin, colour, citizenship, religion and language.
